Participant Undertaking and Waiver

1. Health declaration, physical fitness and acceptance of medical risk

I declare that I am in full health to take part in this race, and that I have no cardiovascular disease, asthma, respiratory condition, joint or bone problem, neurological condition or chronic illness that would prevent me from taking part in this demanding trail race or create a risk to my life.

I am fully aware that the courses to be run as part of Silivri Ultra Trail (8K, 18K or 38K) demand high physical effort, endurance and mental resilience; and that the race terrain contains steep gradients, slippery ground, open forest roads, trails and changing weather conditions (heavy rain, fog, wind, sudden drops in temperature).

I accept and declare that I take upon myself, of my own free will and knowingly, all medical risks that may arise before, during or after the race — including any injury, sprain, fracture, muscle injury, dehydration, hypothermia, heatstroke, insect or bee sting, injury caused by wildlife, and heart attack — together with any permanent damage or risk of death they may cause.

2. Consent to medical intervention and race direction authority

I accept that the official medical teams on the course (doctor, paramedic, ambulance staff, national medical rescue team) and the Race Direction have the authority to examine me and to remove me from the course by disqualification should they consider my condition critical or decide that continuing carries a risk to my life.

I undertake that a "cannot continue" decision taken by medical staff and race officials in the interest of runner health is final and that I will not appeal against it in any way. I hereby give permission for any urgent medical intervention on site and, if necessary, for my transfer to the nearest hospital.

3. Compliance with official race rules, mandatory gear and inspections

I undertake that I have read and understood the entire Official General Race Rules & Procedures document published by the organisation, and that I will comply with those rules absolutely.

I declare that I will carry the mandatory gear list determined for my course in full, on my person or in my pack, throughout the race.

I accept the random mandatory gear inspections to be carried out by officials at the kit collection desks or at checkpoints on the course; and I accept in advance any time penalty or direct disqualification the organisation may apply should my equipment be found incomplete.

4. Nature park protection and environmental clauses

I am fully aware that the race takes place within the boundaries of the protected Silivri Danamandıra Nature Park, which holds special ecological status. Committed to a love of nature and to zero-waste principles, I undertake that I will not harm or disturb natural life, vegetation or wildlife in any way along the course.

I promise that I will not drop any solid or liquid waste — gel wrappers, energy bars, plastic bottles or similar — on the trails or in the forest, and that I will carry them in my pack to the waste units at the checkpoints. Should I be found littering, I accept immediate removal from the race, non-acceptance into the organisation in following years, and personal liability for all legal and financial penalties applied by the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks.

I know that, under the nature park entry regulations, person and vehicle entrance fees arising on entry to the event area are entirely my own responsibility and are not included in the race entry fee.

5. Electronic chip, timing system and withdrawal (DNF) procedure

I accept that, so that my time can be measured properly, I will carry the electronic timing chip and race bib handed to me as instructed by the organisation throughout the race, and that registering a passage on the chip mats and at the marshal desks at every checkpoint on the course is my own responsibility. I accept removal from the ranking in the event of a missing chip record.

Should I wish to withdraw from the race for any reason, I undertake to report this without fail to the marshals on duty at the nearest official checkpoint and to have my bib and chip cancelled. I accept and declare that I will personally bear all financial losses, operational costs and legal liabilities arising from any search and rescue operation launched by the organisation or the official authorities because I left the race area without informing the marshals.

Should I withdraw, I accept that — in the absence of an urgent medical situation — my transfer to the start/finish area will be made at intervals depending on the organisation's logistics plan and vehicle availability, and that I may have to wait at checkpoints.

6. Bag drop conditions and limits of liability

I declare that the personal bag I hand to the bag-drop tent in the start area will contain no valuables such as cash, mobile phone, wallet, passport, credit card, jewellery, electronic devices or valuable documents.

I accept in advance that the organising committee, the sponsors and the staff on duty bear no legal, financial or criminal liability should the bag I leave at the bag drop, or my personal belongings left in the race area, be lost, stolen, damaged or mixed up. I undertake to collect my bag by 15:30 on race day at the latest, on presentation of my race bib.

7. Media rights, consent to use of visual material and KVKK declaration

I fully consent to appearing in any photograph, video, drone footage, audio recording and interview taken before, during and after the event by the organisation teams, official sponsors, broadcasters or agencies.

I declare that I permit the free use of this visual and audio material by the Silivri Ultra Trail organisation and its sponsors in any future advertising, promotion, poster, website image, television/digital broadcast and social media post, without any time limit and without any claim from me for a fee, copyright or any financial or moral compensation. I accept the publication of my name, surname, age category and club in the race results.

8. Entry policy, non-transferability and force majeure

I undertake that my race entry is personal to me, and that I will not transfer or sell my race bib and race rights to any other runner, nor compete under a false name.

I acknowledge that a refund of the entry fee is only possible on presentation of an approved medical report from an official health institution; and I accept that I will not request a refund for other reasons such as weather or personal schedule clashes. I know that no refund is given should I be disqualified for missing mandatory gear or a rule breach.

I declare that the Race Committee reserves the authority to change the course route, shorten the distance, cancel certain checkpoints or stop/cancel the race entirely in cases of extreme weather (storm, flood, landslide and so on) or force majeure, and that I will not claim financial compensation from the organisation for such safety-driven mandatory changes.

9. Legal release and final approval

I declare that I have carefully read this undertaking and waiver document, consisting of 9 clauses, in full before registering for the race and collecting my kit; and that I fully understand, accept and approve all the terms, rules, risks and legal limits set out in it.

I declare, accept and undertake definitively — personally and on behalf of my heirs, executors and legal representatives — that in the event of any accident, injury, financial or moral loss, harm or death that may befall me during or because of the race, I release the Race Director, the Turkish Athletics Federation, the Silivri Ultra Trail Organising Committee, the main and secondary sponsors, the municipalities, public institutions and all staff, volunteers and officials working at the event completely and definitively from any legal, criminal and financial liability for compensation.
