1. Entry procedure, quota and entry deadline

  • Official entry channel: entries are accepted online only through the official Turkish Athletics Federation (TAF) registration system. No alternative registration is taken at the venue on race day or through any other platform.
  • Participant limit (quota): to safeguard runner safety, protect the ecological balance and keep organisational quality at the highest level, the maximum total number of participants across all courses (8K, 18K and 38K) is limited to 1500. The system closes to new entries as soon as the quota is full.
  • Entry deadline: entries, course changes and document uploads close on 28 March 2027 at 23:59. No new runner may enter the system after that date.
  • The current entry fee table is on the Runner Info page.

2. Medical documents, entry requirements and age limits

Any runner who has turned 18 by 4 April 2027 (born in 2009 or earlier) may take part.

  • 8K and 18K categories: a wet-signed waiver (participant undertaking) stating that the runner has no condition preventing trail running, a medical report issued within the last year, or an athlete licence in athletics, triathlon, mountaineering or orienteering is sufficient to start.
  • 38K category: under official long-distance procedures, runners on this course must present a valid medical report issued within the last 6 months bearing the statement "fit for running/athletics", or a currently endorsed athlete licence in athletics, triathlon, mountaineering or orienteering. If documents are missing, the participant undertaking alone is not accepted for this course and the runner is not allowed to start.

3. Cancellation and refund policy

  • Refund on medical grounds: refund requests are only possible on presentation of a medical report clearly stating that the runner cannot compete on that date. No refunds are given for reasons such as weather or personal schedule changes.
  • Rights are non-transferable: the race bib, timing chip and participant rights may under no circumstances be transferred or sold to another runner. Runners found to be running under a false name or with someone else's number are disqualified and not accepted into future events of the organisation.
  • Cancellation: no refund whatsoever is given to runners who cannot start because they failed the mandatory gear check, or who are disqualified or removed from the race for a rule breach.

4. Official age categories and award rules

Age is calculated by year of birth based on the year of the race (2027) under TAF standards, regardless of day and month. The classification for the 8K, 18K and 38K courses is: men's/women's overall, under 30, 30+, 40+, 50+ and 60+.

  • No double podium: women and men who reach the overall podium (top 3) cannot take an age-category award even if they place in their own category. The next runner in that age category is invited to the podium instead.
  • Completion requirement: to be considered for an award or the podium in a category, runners must have completed (FINISHED) the race within the official cut-off times and in accordance with the rules. Categories with insufficient entries may be merged by decision of the jury.

5. Awards, catering and runner kit contents

Silivri Ultra Trail is a professional organisation run in an amateur spirit focused entirely on sportsmanship, love of nature and trail culture. No prize money is awarded to runners who place in the rankings.

  • Medals and trophies: every participant who completes the race within the official cut-off times and in accordance with the rules receives a finisher medal. Runners who place in their category also receive a placement medal and/or trophy.
  • Official race shirt: regardless of course, all runners on the 8K, 18K and 38K receive the official Silivri Ultra Trail commemorative shirt during kit collection.
  • 8K and 18K courses: runners who successfully finish may use the "Finisher Buffet" prepared for them in the finish area (snacks, fruit, hot and cold drinks and so on).
  • 38K Forest Trail course: a hot, restorative "Finisher Meal" is served in the finish area to our runners after they finish this long, high-effort distance.

6. Nature park rules and entry conditions

  • Nature park awareness and conduct: the race takes place within the boundaries and lake district of the protected Silivri Danamandıra Nature Park. All runners must be aware that they are running in a nature park with special ecological status, and must show absolute respect for the flora, fauna and park area. Any aggressive behaviour, noise or damage harmful to natural life is direct grounds for removal from the race.
  • Entrance fee policy: entrance fees (per person/vehicle) arising on entry to our venue, Silivri Danamandıra Nature Park, are entirely the responsibility of runners and their companions. These fees are not included in the race entry fee.

7. Mandatory gear and inspection procedures

The full mandatory gear list is on the Runner Info page.

  • Check at kit collection: to prevent queues, the primary and principal stage of the mandatory gear check takes place during kit collection. Runners with missing equipment are never given a race bib.
  • Random CP checks: the jury and organisation officials have the right to carry out random mandatory gear searches at any checkpoint (CP) on the course. Missing items lead to a time penalty (+10/30 minutes) or direct disqualification, depending on the scale of the breach.
  • Participants are responsible for collecting their kit before the start time of their race.
  • No mandatory gear check is carried out for runners on the 8K course beyond the race bib and timing chip. However, as no plastic or paper cups are provided at the checkpoints, runners are advised to carry a collapsible cup or a 500 ml water container (bottle, flask and so on).

8. Course discipline, environmental protection and navigation

  • Following the markers: runners must follow the direction markers placed by the organisation (tape, flags or reflectors). On natural trails markers are placed 10 to 100 metres apart depending on the terrain.
  • No short cuts, no vehicles: leaving the marked route, taking short cuts, joining the course at unofficial points or using any vehicle — motorised or not — is direct grounds for disqualification.
  • Cut-off times: runners must cross the finish line within the maximum completion time set for each course. Runners leaving a checkpoint after the set time limit, or with no passage record at a CP, are deemed to have withdrawn.
  • Environmental protection and zero waste: dropping any litter along the course — on the trails, in the forest or in rural areas, including gel wrappers and plastic bottles — is strictly prohibited. A runner found littering receives a heavy time penalty on the first occasion and direct disqualification on a repeat.
  • Shared traffic: sections of the course with asphalt and field-road links (roughly 15%) may not be fully closed to traffic. In these open areas it is the runner's own responsibility to follow general traffic rules.

9. Sportsmanship, outside assistance and pole rules

  • Runners on the 8K and 18K courses are strictly forbidden from taking a pacer or nutrition/equipment support from outside (friends, family, coach and so on).
  • On the 38K course, outside assistance may only be taken within the official checkpoint boundaries set by the organisation (200 metres before and after). Taking unauthorised support on forest and trail sections outside a CP is grounds for disqualification.
  • Use of poles: running poles are permitted. However, under elite race standards, a runner who starts the race with poles must finish with them. Leaving poles with a supporter mid-course or receiving poles from outside mid-course is prohibited. A time penalty applies for a breach.
  • Duty to assist: any runner who comes across an injured runner or one in need of urgent help must assist them and report the situation to the nearest marshal or medical team. Time lost through humanitarian assistance is deducted from the runner's net time by the jury.

10. Chip timing system and passage control

  • Electronic timing: timing throughout the race is carried out with electronic timing chips. Chips are handed to runners together with the race bib at kit collection.
  • Checkpoint requirement: registering a passage on the electronic timing mats or at the marshal desks at every checkpoint on the course is entirely the runner's responsibility. Runners missing a chip passage record at any CP station are removed from the ranking (disqualified) even if they finish the race.

11. Withdrawal and evacuation (DNF)

  • Voluntary withdrawal: runners wishing to withdraw must notify the marshals on duty at an official checkpoint only. The marshal on duty formally closes the runner's bib and chip record.
  • Transfer to the finish area: other than urgent medical situations, transfers of withdrawing runners from a checkpoint to the start/finish area are made at intervals depending on the availability of the organisation's transfer vehicles and its logistics plan. Runners accept that they may have to wait at checkpoints.
  • No leaving without notice: if runners who leave the course and race area without informing the marshals cause a search and rescue operation, all resulting financial and legal responsibility rests with the runner.

12. Medical intervention and authority to stop a runner

  • Consent to medical intervention: the official medical teams on the course (doctor, ambulance staff or the national medical rescue team) and the race director have the authority to examine any runner whose condition is considered critical or whose continuing would carry a risk to life, and if necessary to stop the race for that runner and remove them from the course.
  • No appeal: a "cannot continue" decision taken by the medical teams or race doctor in the interest of runner health is final and cannot be appealed by the runner.

13. Bag drop procedure

  • Bag-drop tent: the organisation operates a bag-drop tent in the start area from 06:00 on Sunday 4 April 2027.
  • Hand-over conditions: runners may hand marshals a spare bag containing no valuables (phone, cash, wallet and so on), with their race bib fixed to it.
  • Disclaimer: the organising committee cannot be held legally responsible for loss, theft or damage to bags left at the bag drop. Bags must be collected by 15:30 after the award ceremony, on presentation of the race bib.

14. Weather, force majeure, route changes and cancellation

  • Right to an alternative route: the Race Committee reserves the right to change or shorten the course route, or to cancel particular checkpoints, in cases of heavy rain, storms, landslides or extreme weather arising on race morning or during the race, in order to keep runners safe.
  • Cancellation: should the race be cancelled entirely for reasons of force majeure, the organising committee accepts no liability and the refund procedure is determined by a specific decision of the Race Committee.

15. Logistics, media rights and appeals

  • Accommodation and shuttle information: shuttle departure points and times, plus detailed guidance on partner hotels, will be published on the website and official social media accounts in the coming weeks.
  • Media rights notice: all runners taking part are deemed to have permitted the free use, without any fee or claim, of any photograph, video, drone footage and audio recording taken during the event by the organisation teams, official sponsors and broadcasters in future promotional, advertising and marketing material.
  • Appeals against results: official appeals against results or rankings must be submitted in writing to the Race Committee within 2 hours of the participant crossing the finish line. Verbal or late appeals outside that window are not considered.

16. Emergency, safety and communication

  • Emergency line: an organisation emergency line (+90 530 642 33 76) has been set up for serious injury, getting lost or situations requiring urgent medical help during the race.
  • Race bib integration: this emergency number is printed in large type on the back or front of every participant's race bib so that runners can reach it quickly in a moment of panic.
  • Getting lost and assistance protocol: a runner who loses their bearings, is injured or needs urgent help must stay put without leaving the trail or forest road, and call this number to report their situation and location.
  • Weak mobile signal: mobile signal can be weak in some deep forest and basin areas of Danamandıra Nature Park. Where there is no signal, runners should move towards the nearest open area or hilltop without straying from the route, and blow the emergency whistle from their mandatory gear at intervals to signal to the sweeper or rescue teams behind them.

The rules above are binding on all Silivri Ultra Trail courses; every runner who registers is deemed to have read and accepted them. The Race Committee reserves the right to update these rules for reasons of runner safety or force majeure; updates are announced on this page. The PDF is the Turkish original.
