FAQ
Where do I register? Can I sign up on race day?
Entries are accepted online only through the official website of the Turkish Athletics Federation (TAF). The quota is limited to 1500 runners and entries close on 28 March 2027. No new registrations will be taken at the venue on race day.
Is there an entrance fee for Silivri Danamandıra Nature Park?
Yes. Under the regulations of the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, nature park entrance fees (per person or vehicle) are entirely the responsibility of runners and their companions. Entrance fees are not included in the race entry fee.
How will I find my way on the course? Is there a risk of getting lost?
All courses are marked meticulously by our team with tape, direction flags and reflectors at critical turns. In addition, professional sweeper teams follow at the back of each course, collecting the markers and keeping the course safe. To avoid losing your way, watching the live technical briefing on 1 April is mandatory.
Getting lost — running off route — is an accepted risk in the nature of trail running. Organisers mark the course at intervals (typically every 10 to 100 metres, depending on the terrain) with tape, flags or reflectors. If a runner has seen no marker for a certain distance (for example 200–300 metres), they are responsible for accepting that they have lost the route and returning to the last marker they saw. The organisation generally cannot be held responsible for time lost because markers were moved or went missing.
Will there be plastic cups at the checkpoints?
The event follows a "cupless race" concept. To protect nature and maintain the zero-waste policy in Danamandıra Nature Park, no plastic cups will be provided at the stations. On the 18K and 38K courses the mandatory gear list requires carrying a water container with a total capacity of at least one litre. There is no gear check on the 8K course, but you are advised to carry a collapsible cup or a 500 ml water container.
Is food or drink provided during and after the race?
Water, savoury and sweet snacks and fruit are provided at the checkpoints (CP). At the finish, a "Finisher Buffet" is served for 8K and 18K runners and a hot "Finisher Meal" for 38K runners. In addition, a free pasta party is held for all runners on Saturday 3 April.
Is there a safe place to leave my belongings on race day?
Yes. A bag-drop tent operates in the start area from 06:00 on Sunday 4 April. You may hand over a spare bag containing no valuables (cash, phone, wallet) with your race bib fixed to it, and collect it by 15:30 at the latest.
I registered but cannot take part due to injury or illness — can I get a refund?
Refund requests are only processed on presentation of a medical report from an official health institution clearly stating that you cannot run on the race date. No refunds are given for personal schedule changes or weather. Transferring your race bib to another person is strictly prohibited.
Will there be a shuttle from Silivri centre on race day? Is it paid?
Yes. For ease of access, free return shuttle services will run on the morning of Sunday 4 April from Silivri centre (exact departure point and times will be announced during race week) to the race venue at Silivri Danamandıra Nature Park. Exact departure times will be announced on our website and social media accounts.
Is there parking if I drive myself?
Yes. Parking areas are available inside Danamandıra Nature Park for participants and their companions. To avoid queues at the nature park gates in the morning, we kindly ask you to enter the area at least 1.5 hours before your own start time.
What should I do if I get lost on the trail during the race?
If you have not seen a course marker (tape or flag) for 200 consecutive metres, you may have left the route. Do not panic — retrace your steps back to the last marker you saw.
If you have lost your bearings completely, never leave the trail or forest road (do not enter dense forest). Call the emergency number printed on the back of your race bib (+90 530 642 33 76), report your location, stay where you are and wait for our search and rescue / sweeper team. Do not forget to blow your whistle.
Can I use poles on the courses?
Yes. Poles are permitted on all of our 8K, 18K and 38K courses. However, under our official rule, runners who start the race with poles must finish with them. Leaving poles with a support crew mid-race, losing them, or receiving new poles from outside (including at stations) is prohibited. Runners using poles are also asked to carry them with the tips covered, for the safety of runners behind them.
Will the race be cancelled if the weather is bad on race day?
Silivri Ultra Trail is a trail race run in changing natural and weather conditions. Rain, mud or fog are part of the nature of the race and it will not be cancelled (the waterproof jacket and spare long-sleeve top on the mandatory gear list exist precisely for this). However, in extreme weather threatening runner safety (storms, severe flood risk and so on), the Race Committee has the right to shorten or change the routes or to stop the race.
When do the shuttles leave the finish area after the award ceremony?
Return shuttles to Silivri centre depart from the start/finish area between 15:00 and 15:30 on race day, after the official award ceremony at 14:00 and taking the final 38K cut-off (14:30) into account. Runners using the shuttle must have collected their bags from the bag drop by then.
I registered but cannot come on race day. Can I get my race shirt and kit afterwards?
Yes, you can! We do not want runners who cannot be with us on race day to lose their commemorative shirts and kit contents. If you contact us within 14 days of the end of the race, we can send your race kit to your address, provided the shipping cost is entirely yours (cash on delivery).
For security reasons the race bib and chip are not included in shipped packages. Shipments are sent in batches within 15 working days following race week.
